Youth Sports League —
Building Life Skills Through Sports & Play
Organized sports give young people the opportunity to have fun with their peers, build friendships, and learn teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship from caring coaches and mentors. Now in its 26th season, the FTC Youth Sports League teaches basketball fundamentals while promoting faith, character development, and confidence in a supportive, family-friendly environment.
Registration typically opens in the fall and closes mid-December once rosters are full, followed by a January–March season and an end-of-year Awards Night. The Upward season has now concluded. Please check back this fall for 2027 registration details or email forthecity@salemchurchnyc.org for more information.
Open to Kids from Kindergarten to Grade 9
Every child in Kindergarten through Grade 9 is invited to join and experience the spirit of sportsmanship and fun.
Basketball and Cheer Squad
The league welcomes 300 participants across multiple divisions and teams—including a cheer squad.
Newly Renovated Facilities
All practices and games are hosted in Salem Church’s Tom Maddox Gymnasium, located at 634 Clove Rd. and newly renovated as of 2025.

Summer Day Camp —
Safety, Enrichment, and Fun All Summer
The FTC Summer Day Camp provides a safe, engaging environment for hundreds of children to enjoy structured sports, recreation, and enrichment activities during its five-week program in July and August. A dedicated preschool track serves three and four-year-olds, while campers from Kindergarten through Grade 8 rotate through a full schedule of activities across air-conditioned indoor spaces and a designated outdoor play area.
Registration opens in March and the camp is fully licensed by the NYSDOH and offers a free lunch program through the NYCDOE. Early care and after-care options are also available to support families’ schedules.
Experienced Leadership
We’re proud of a leadership team with decades of combined experience in education and working with youth, who are committed to serving kids and families with faith and excellence.
Caring & Trained Support Staff
Our support staff of coaches are high school and college-aged students, many of whom are former campers. Coaches are selected through an application process, interviewed, screened and trained.
Faith-based Fun & Focus
We strive to provide a quality day camp in a nurturing environment infused with Christian values. Beyond sports and activities, daily Bible lessons and games add to the fun, enhancing each camper’s experience.

Kids Night —
Free Seasonal Fun for Kids at Salem Church
Kids Night is a seasonal, free program offered by FTC each spring and fall, one of our most anticipated events for children and parents alike. Designed for kids from Kindergarten through Grade 5, it provides a weekly evening filled with fun and connection. Children enjoy group games in the gym, giveaways, and engaging Bible lessons, while parents can stay to socialize or use the time to run an errand or grab a meal.
No registration is required. Stay tuned for details on the next Kids Night in June 2026 or send an email to forthecity@salemchurchnyc.org for more info.
Dozens of Children Attend Kids Night
Each session draws dozens of children, many of whom invite friends from school, sports teams, and the neighborhood.
Kids Night is Held in the Spring & Fall
Kids Night runs two evenings per week for one month, typically in the Spring and Fall.
Designated Nights for Younger & Older Kids
We have designated nights for younger children (Kindergarten–Grade 2) and older children (Grades 3–5).
